Job Description:

Job Responsibilities


Responsible for coordinating the custodial scholarships and private loans disbursement process, including; receiving, processing, and depositing checks.


Verify students' eligibility for Federal Direct Loans or for private loans, per federal, state, and university policy regulations. Mailing of private loans.


Provide operational support to the Disbursement section in the Office for Student Financial Affairs, which disburses more than $500 million dollars in financial aid to over 46,000 students in over 100 aid programs.


Responsible for the hiring, training and supervising of one full-time Financial Aid Assistant II, student assistants or OPS staff to assist with disbursement-related tasks and reports.


Responsible for the verification of all PeopleSoft deposits.


Responsible for communication between private donors, private lenders, the Office of the University Bursar, and students. Responsible for the processing and monitoring of bounced checks.


Assist with the disbursement of all financial aid funds through the PeopleSoft batch net check program. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.



Advertised Salary:

$31,000 commensurate with education and experience



Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred Qualifications:

Student financial aid experience preferred as well as personal computer knowledge.


Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
