Job Description:

The UF Small Animal Hospital Reproduction service offers amenities such as progesterone testing, brucellosis testing, insemination collecting and evaluation, along with procedures such as ultrasounding and AI. The service tends to various species, but mostly dogs.


The service is seeking a part-time technician who will be responsible for assisting and facilitating client service related matters along with appointments, medical treatments, and procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian. Technicians also assist veterinary students and help to maintain a clean, sanitary, and functionally well-organized service.


Duties include but are not limited to:



+ Client services - assisting with client phone calls; client education; planning, organizing, and coordinating appointments, consultations, and diagnostic scheduling; formatting and uploading of medical information.


+ Technical services - assists with patient medical evaluations, performs patient observations and monitoring, administers medications and treatments; records in patient medical records; collects, prepares, and submits clinical pathology samples; captures and inputs fees for materials and services; maintains inventory and replenishes stock within the assigned areas; sets up, maintains, and ensures proper storage of specialized diagnostic equipment.



Expected shifts are Monday -Friday 11am-3pm OR 12pm-4pm (approximately 20hrs/week)



Advertised Salary:

Starting salary is $13.00 - $15.00 per hour.

+ Experience with small animals (i.e. handling, monitoring, and treating)




Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a Veterinary Technician
