This position is part of the central administration and provides reception and office support to the UF Graduate School. Works collaboratively with all units within the Graduate School to ensure inquiries are appropriately directed to Administration, Editorial Office, Graduate Student Records, Data Management, Division of Graduate Student Affairs- Graduate Diversity Initiatives, Graduate Professional Development, and Graduate International Outreach.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



+ Assisting and greeting visitors, handling their inquiries or referring them to appropriate staff


+ Answering the telephone, recording and routing messages


+ Responding to emails


+ Distributing mail and preparing outgoing mail, receiving and preparing packages for courier delivery.


+ Providing assistance to graduate school staff for filing, copying, organizing and scanning documents.


+ Receiving and collecting documents from students.


+ Assisting with orientations, awards, and other graduate school events.


+ Other duties as assigned.




Advertised Salary:

$10.00/ hour



Minimum Requirements:


+ This is a Federal Work Study position with an anticipated Summer B 2018 start date. Only students with an approved FWS award for summer and fall 2018 will be considered. Students must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position is likely to continue for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters, if the selected candidate is a good fit.


+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions


+ Must be in good conduct standing with the University of Florida


+ Must have and maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA


+ Successful completion of FERPA basics training


+ Successful outcome of the background check.




Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should be detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must demonstrate professional etiquette in person and on the phone. Punctuality is essential. Applicants should have experience and working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Acrobat), and be familiar with various web browsers.
