Job Description:

This position is responsible for all aspects of production and instructional technologies utilized in the UF College of Education. This will include but is not limited to configuring, installing, monitoring and maintaining desktop, server and infrastructure systems software, hardware, mobile computing devices, printers and other peripheral devices.

Provides support and guidance while communicating and implementing mandatory UF security policies such as device encryption within the College of Education. Maintain COE instructional technology equipment and support Counselor Education clinical program technical needs.

Manage and coordinate response to information security incidents and assist college units ensuring legal and policy compliance for University owned devices. Provides support and guidance while communicating and implementing mandatory UF security policies such as device encryption within the College of Education.

Investigate, evaluate and specify hardware, software and peripheral products needed for support requirements of all departments in the College.

Provides additional support for COE servers, work stations, hand-held devices, printers, card access and camera systems, etc. Manage loaner equipment, inspect for damage, and rebuild as necessary for inventory control. Provides emergency IT assistance. Provides input for strategic computer support.

Other duties as assigned.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Windows, OSX and IOS client operating systems required. Knowledge of software packages (Office, Outlook, SAS, SPSS) desirable.

Previous experience supporting faculty, staff and students within a higher education setting.

Experience with HelpSpot request tracking system. Experience with Xerox manage print services. Experience with Apple Remote Desktop, Reveal Body cameras and system virtualization.

Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or a High School Degree and four years of appropriate experience is required.

Documented working knowledge of networking technologies and preferred industry practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems and software is required. Ability to install and configure a wide range of peripherals and software on a variety of devices.

Working knowledge of smart mobile devices and applications. Knowledge of the basic terminology, concepts and techniques of data processing and computer programming. Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems, interpret technical information relating to computer hardware and software.

Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective work relationships with others. Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in delivering consistent and stable production-level services is required.

Ability to organize and manage complex activities and to complete assignments in a timely fashion with attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
